Basic Car Maintenance Course

Most of us own a car, yet we struggle to understand the basics of how the car actually works. This hands-on course is open to anyone and the expert will start at the beginning to teach owners how to keep their vehicles in great shape.
You will be guided into checking oil, changing tires, checking fuses, basic servicing, and doing other simple tasks that keep cars functioning. You will get to work on a range of popular models of cars, some older, some newer, in order to make it relevant to any car owner. You will be trained to consult the manual, which will dictate the difficulty level for each job, before starting it.The expert will famliarize you wih the technical jargon used, so if needed you will also learn to communicate better with your mechanic. And, by the end of this course you will be a more confident motorist!
- Tools and materials included in course.
- Personal protective equipment (eye and hearing protection) will be supplied; however you may bring your own.
- Bring packed lunch.
- Tea, coffee and cold drinks are provided at no charge.
- Group class.
- Duration: 20 hours in 5 days.
Can bring my car to be worked on in class?
Yes, but it is near the end. The idea is for you to get to know your own car.
What do I wear to class?
Wear safety clothing and footwear. Closed shoes are required.
Will I get a booklet or some printed material?
Yes. You will get auxiliary material at the end of each class for you to review at home.
